We bring together specialist knowledge, thoughtful technology and genuine care for our customers. By helping more items stay in circulation, we create value for people and make a positive impact at the same time.

    About the Team

Our logistics team is a dynamic group dedicated to ensuring the smooth and efficient stock flow throughout the company. Composed of individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, we work collaboratively to support various departments and ultimately enhance the experience for our internal teams and valued customers. Our team plays a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

    Why This Role Matters

    Why the role exists

Logistics Operatives are responsible for keeping stock moving seamlessly across the business—handling initial intake, breakdown, and routing inventory directly to Marketplace. As a Logistics Lead, you will create the environment that enables the team to deliver those standards consistently.
You will direct a team of Logistics Operatives focused strictly on breakdown operations and initial facility arrival. This involves setting clear expectations, coaching performance, handling day-to-day team queries and conduct, and using shift metrics to resolve workflow bottlenecks quickly on the floor.
As the key escalation point for complex stock issues, you will collaborate with teams across Vintage.com to maintain inventory integrity while building your team's confidence to handle operational challenges independently over time.

    What success looks like

    • Zero operational delays in moving stock and returns to downstream departments.
    • High shift output alongside top-tier inventory and sorting accuracy.
    • A well-trained, highly engaged team that meets performance standards.
    • Safe, compliant, and hazard-free floor operations during peak and non-peak periods.

    Lead and develop your team

    • Lead, supervise, and motivate the breakdown team to achieve daily operational targets.
    • Conduct regular 1-on-1 development meetings with team members to set clear goals, track progress, and support individual development.
    • Handle day-to-day team queries, conflict resolution, attendance concerns, and floor conduct professionally and promptly.
    • Brief the shift on daily targets, breakdown priorities, and safety callouts at the start of every shift.
    • Manage shift attendance, cover, and real-time floor allocations to maintain full operational capacity.
    • Coach team members on standard operating procedures, quality standards, and correct stock handling techniques.
    • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture that drives accountability and strong work ethic on the floor.

    Operational excellence

    • Receive, break down, sort, and process incoming inventory intake during the day shift.
    • Route processed breakdown stock directly to Marketplace.
    • Safely lift and move stock boxes (up to 30kg) and transport stock cages throughout the facility.
    • Maintain clean, efficient pathways and organized staging areas across the warehouse.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Monitor output and identify practical ways to improve sorting and breakdown speed and accuracy.
    • Keep staging areas and inventory pathways clear to streamline internal transfers.

    Compliance

    • Uphold safe lifting practices and warehouse health and safety guidelines.
    • Ensure stock control procedures and inventory logs are accurately maintained.

    Essential

    • Proven experience in a team lead, supervisor, or team lead role within a warehouse or logistics setting.
    • Experience conducting 1-on-1 performance catch-ups, supporting individual development, and handling day-to-day team queries and conduct on shift.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and direct operational teams to hit daily shift targets.
    • Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills under fast-paced operational pressure.
    • Experience managing inventory breakdown, stock allocation, and floor safety guidelines.

    Helpful

    • Experience using inventory management systems or warehouse scanning tools.
    • Exposure to continuous improvement techniques or lean warehouse processes.
    • Take ownership on every shift, setting the standard for quality, safety, and operational excellence from the floor.
    • Build trust with your team through honest, two-way communication, active listening, and fair decision-making during daily operations and 1-on-1s.
    • Drive a culture of continuous care by looking out for your team's safety, supporting their personal development, and recognizing their hard work.
    • Maintain an adaptable, solution-focused mindset when operational priorities shift, keeping the team focused and moving in the same direction.
