    Job description

    • State Role Title: Equipment Serv Repair Tech II
    • Minimum Salary: 50888.00
    • Maximum Salary: 82693.00
    • Competency Model: All Employee
    Perform maintenance and repair tasks on all mechanical equipment onboard the ferries and docking facilities. Prepare ferries for semi-annual and annual US Coast Guard safety inspections.
    How you will contribute:
  1. Information Processing and Paperwork: Prepare, process, and maintain required maintenance and repair documentation. Generate, complete, and close-out work orders in computer system. Perform time and leave entry. Prepare parts requests. Complete paperwork for warranty inspections and repairs.
  2. Maintain Vessel Auxiliary Systems: Perform maintenance and repairs on auxiliary systems like Air condition units, sanitary system, steering, fuel, electrical equipment and other auxiliary equipment on board the ferries.
  3. Maintain and Repair Dock Equipment: Maintain and repair loading ramps including repair or replacement of sheaves, cables, hydraulic components, and other associated equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on dock equipment.
  4. Maintain and Repair Marine equipment: Diagnose and repair marine engines including fuel pumps and injectors, governors, jacket water pumps, cylinder heads, power assemblies and other components. Perform tune ups and preventive maintenance.
  5. Prepare ferries for U.S. Coast Guard Inspections: Inspect and test safety devices, relief valves, shut down devices, firefighting equipment, and other safety-related equipment to verify proper system operation. Accompany U.S. Coast Guard inspectors during inspection to verify system operability.

  8. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  9. Ability to operate large and small equipment, motor vehicles, and tools.
  10. Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
  11. Ability to read and comprehend service and repair manuals, gauges, and testing devices.
  12. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  13. Knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of marine mechanical equipment.
  14. Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
  15. Skill in the use of hand and power tolls and advanced electronic and computerized diagnostic equipment.
  16. Minimum Qualifications:
  17. Ability to independently perform major repairs and maintenance on a variety of marine equipment.
  18. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  19. Ability to operate large and small equipment, motor vehicles, and tools.
  20. Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
  21. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  22. Ability to read, comprehend service and repair manuals, gauges, testing devices and blueprints.
  23. Knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of marine mechanical equipment.
  24. Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
  25. Valid driver's license.
  26. Additional Considerations:
  27. A combination of training, experience, or education in Maintenance, or related field desired.
  28. Experience preparing for U.S. Coast Guard inspections.
  29. Experience repairing and maintaining marine mechanical equipment.
