Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech?  Vishay Specialty Thin Film – Hollis, NH is currently seeking applicants for a Production Manager. The Production Manager is a hands-on leader who owns production performance across the entire manufacturing floor and all operating shifts in a fast-paced, customer-driven custom thin film job shop. Through direct leadership of Production Supervisors, this role converts customer demand and the approved site production and revenue plans into disciplined daily execution through the effective utilization of people, equipment, materials, methods, and available capacity.

The Production Manager establishes the daily and weekly operating rhythm, sets priorities, establishes accountability, removes barriers, and drives timely escalation and recovery actions to meet customer delivery and financial commitments without compromising safety or quality. The role continuously manages the current factory constraint and addresses any additional process or work center that limits total factory output, while balancing changing customer priorities, capacity, cost, and workforce requirements. Success requires a strong floor presence, sound judgment, consistent follow-through, and close partnership with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Equipment/Facilities, Human Resources, and EHS.

What you will be doing:

Lead daily production execution. Translate the approved monthly plan into clear daily and weekly priorities by work center, shift, and supervisor; monitor progress and initiate recovery before commitments are missed.

Manage schedule, capacity, and flow. Work with Planning to create executable schedules that account for product mix, staffing, qualifications, material readiness, yield, planned maintenance, and equipment availability.

Manage the factory constraint. Continuously identify the process limiting total output, protect its effective capacity, and coordinate labor, sequencing, overtime, material, equipment, and technical support.

Ensure safe and compliant operations. Provide visible safety leadership, enforce EHS requirements, complete routine Gemba walks, support incident investigations, and help maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.

Maintain product quality and workmanship. Ensure adherence to approved instructions and customer requirements; monitor yield, scrap, rework, and audit findings; and support continued AS9100 certification.

Protect customer delivery and support growth. Maintain visibility to customer-critical, late, R&D, and new-product jobs; escalate risks early and coordinate practical recovery actions with cross-functional partners.

Lead and develop the production organization. Coach Production Supervisors, set clear expectations, address performance concerns, and strengthen qualification, cross-training, succession, and shift coverage.

Improve profitability and operating performance. Use Lean methods and production data to reduce waste, labor variance, rework, downtime, and queue time while monitoring labor, overtime, materials, scrap, and other controllable costs.

What you will bring along:

·       Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and progressively responsible manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.

·       Seven or more years of manufacturing experience, including at least three years leading supervisors or multi-department production teams; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

·       Experience in a high-mix/low-volume, build-to-print, thin-film, semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or similarly controlled manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

·       Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, workforce capability, and financial performance through direct shop-floor leadership.

·       Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, supervisor development, performance management, conflict resolution, and organizational change.

·       Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, standard work, and continuous improvement.

• Knowledge of quality-management and EHS systems in a regulated manufacturing environment; experience supporting AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including cost reduction, headcount justification, and customer-impact assessment.
• Ability to interpret schedule, WIP, yield, labor, downtime, and cost data and convert it into clear operating decisions and priorities.

·       Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office;

·       Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence employees, supervisors, peers, senior leaders, customers, and other stakeholders; and availability to support off-shift or urgent production needs when required.
