Residential Shift Supervisor (RSS) position at Vista Care.
Core Responsibilities
- Operational & Shift Oversight: Provides operational supervision for assigned residential locations, oversees shift transitions, and coordinates with the Residential Manager and scheduling team to maintain required staffing coverage.
- Staff Management & Development: Tracks DSP attendance, provides coaching, mentorship, and corrective actions, assists with onboarding, and delivers required training including Medication Training.
- Individual Care & Crisis Support: Ensures compliance with Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs), offers crisis behavioral intervention/debriefing support, and assists with direct care or medication distribution as needed.
- Quality, Safety & Audits: Conducts monthly program inspections and audits, monitors vehicle maintenance, tracks medication errors with the quality team, and enforces abuse prevention and mandatory reporting policies.
- Site Administration: Coordinates on-site supply needs with the Residential Manager and maintains accurate financial records for groceries, supplies, and household items.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic Criteria: Minimum age of 18, valid driver's license, successful completion of a caregiver background check, and computer proficiency.
- Preferred Background: 1+ years of experience as a caregiver or Direct Support Professional (DSP), 1+ years of direct supervisory/management experience, and prior background in residential or human services.
- Key Skills: Critical decision-making, task prioritization, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, independent working ability, and professional boundary maintenance in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One year+ experience as a caregiver or direct support professional preferred.
- Previous experience in residential services, support with individuals with disabilities, customer service, and/or human services fields preferred.
- One year+ experience as a direct supervisor or manager of others preferred.
- Ability to supervise and manage others while ensuring the best possible care and support is provided to individuals.
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism, including maintaining professional boundaries and adherence to confidentiality.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a caregiver background check required.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- College or university degree preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- AFH/CBRF certification preferred (WI ONLY).
