The Shop Hand will be part of a team that assist with maintenance, repairs, and overall upkeep of vehicles and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with general shop duties, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.
- Support inventory management by tracking, stocking, and organizing supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in supply management, ensuring necessary parts and materials are readily available for technicians.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and tools as needed.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage of equipment and supplies.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks, including assisting with equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- Help maintain accurate records of tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
- Follow safety protocols and assist in safety management to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Think critically and problem-solve to support shop operations and efficiency.
- Work closely with mechanics and technicians to support daily workflow and operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience working in a warehouse or shop environment.
- Forklift operation experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and think outside the box to solve problems.
- Motivated and eager to take on new challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and supply management.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse or shop experience is a plus.
Position Type & Work Schedule:
- Full-time, non-exempt position.
- Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexibility required as job duties demand.
Salary Range
- $17.00- $20.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
