The Technical Operator will operate and maintain automated stringer machines that weld individual solar cells together into long "strings" for solar modules. This position will load solar cells, monitor the welding process, perform quality control checks, perform routine maintenance and cleaning, and troubleshoot basic machine issues. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety procedures to meet production standards.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates automatic stringer machines to weld solar cells together according to production specifications.
- Trains new stringer operators on use of machines.
- Loads solar cells and ribbons into the machine and unloads finished strings.
- Visually inspects cells and strings for defects, monitors welding quality, and performs checks to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Assists operators in troubleshooting issues with stringer machines.
- Tracks production metrics, adjusts machine settings as needed, and reports any issues.
- Performs routine inspections, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting to keep the machines running efficiently.
- Tracks downtime and cell usage, and reports issues to supervisors or maintenance teams.
- Troubleshoots mechanical or technical issues and coordinate repairs when needed.
- Reads and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Maintains accurate production and quality control records.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Collaborates with quality control and engineering teams to improve efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or technical certification preferred
- Two (2) years’ experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery (Relevant technical education or formal training may substitute for required work experience).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read technical documentation and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality control awareness
- Fundamental knowledge to work with different computer applications

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend on occasional basis
- Ability to reach above shoulder and below waist frequently
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
