Responsibilities
- Working with a group of engineers in the pursuit of water resources, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics design related projects and the related clients;
- Proficient understanding and knowledge of frequently used software such as HEC programs, XP-SWMM, MOUSE, etc. and how the use of each addresses water resources issues.
- Sound technical knowledge, especially in the area of water resources engineering.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Work with the WRE team to identify and pursue water resources opportunities in which Walter P Moore can excel.
- Develop a national network of clients and consultant alliances to position the WRE group.
- Opportunity to experience GIS-based tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth Engine for watershed modeling and floodplain mapping.
- Get exposure to sustainable urban drainage systems, green infrastructure, and climate adaptation strategies for flood control.
- Opportunity to experience mentoring junior engineers and conducting knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Handling large datasets, real-time monitoring systems and automation systems.
- Get exposure to machine learning applications in hydrology and predictive analytics for flood forecasting.
- Existing Client network a plus.
Qualifications
- Masters in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in hydrology/hydraulics, water resources or related field); Ph.D. degree is a plus
- 8 to 9 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in drainage design;
- Proficient in related softare/modeling programs including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICM, XP-SWMM, 2D modling, etc.; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
