    Role Overview

    Position Title: Accountant

    Department: Accounting

    Reporting to: Senior Accounting Manager

    FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Denver, CO

    Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as an Accountant. The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to analyze and process complex data, perform reconciliations, and prepare accurate financial reporting in support of organizational decision-making.

    About the Position

    The Accountant is responsible for assisting in financial statement preparation, and in performing reconciliations, financial analysis, and the preparation of other statements and reports for use by management and other stakeholders. The role supports financial statement closing activities, assists with audits and projects, and collaborates with colleagues across the accounting team to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial data.

    What you will do

    The Accountant works closely with a team of senior accountants in the financial statement preparation and reporting process preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close, and ensuring accurate reporting across a wide variety of entities. The role maintains cash balances and oversees payment activity, provides schedules and analysis to management and other departments, and provides recommendations to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal control systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts.
    • Maintain cash balances and oversee and forecast cash activity, including coordinating with various associates to ensure timely payment and high-quality input to accounting software.
    • Support associates with month-, quarter-, and year-end closing tasks and assist in the preparation of financial statements and related schedules.
    • Coordinate with other staff to provide support for other finance and accounting projects.
    • Track business activities and supporting information.
    • Provide schedules and information to other departments as needed.
    • Analyze and prepare recommendations to management on process improvement.
    • Perform other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives.

    Qualifications required for success

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of work experience helpful/desired in an accounting role within a professional setting or relevant internship experience.
    • Strong technical skills, including knowledge and use of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook..

    Additional Helpful/Desired Experience Includes

    • Experience using Microsoft Business Central, Solver, and SharePoint

    Benefits Information

    Compensation Range: $78,000-$90,000
