    Provides services related to staff and visitor food service, and patient food service including operating computerized cash register; restocking food and non-food items in respective areas of cafeteria and catering. Maintains clean and orderly appearance of cafeteria; set up and delivery of catered functions.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

    1. Current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.  They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties.  Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Operates cash register accurately.  Completes all cash register reports and daily price adjustments.  Completes closing procedures and balances cash banks.

    2. Orders and restocks food and non-food items in cafeteria and catering areas.

    3. Maintains sanitation standards for cafeteria, catering and storage areas according to department and hospital requirements.  Follows appropriate cleaning schedules.

    4. Reports unusual incidents within the cafeteria, and cash register problems to the supervisor.

    5. Attends in-service education and department meetings, and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures.

    6. Services the customer and employee with respect and courtesy.  Provides assistance within cafeteria dining area and for catered functions.

    7. Food is handled safely. Monitors, records and maintains proper temperature control of all food products.

    8. Operates all cafeteria equipment including grill, fryer and maintains appropriate cleaning schedule for equipment.

    9. Follows appropriate procedures for setup, preparation, service, of cafeteria foods, catering and catered functions. Assures that food is of the appearance and quality desired for customer satisfaction.

    10. Responsible for completion of daily menu boards.

    11. Maintains a clean and safe workplace.

    1. Frequent standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

    2. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

    2. Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
    3. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment.
    4. Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
