    General Summary

    Provides individual, group and/or family therapy. Provides preadmission screening to determine appropriateness for admission. Interviews patients and/or families to obtain psycho-social histories. Collaborates with the treatment team to develop a treatment plan and coordinates discharge planning.

    Position Summary

    The Mt. Gretna Outpatient Program is seeking a licensed therapist to provide treatment services for individuals experiencing substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This clinician will play a key role in supporting recovery through evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy services in a DDAP-licensed outpatient setting.

    This position offers the opportunity to maintain a significant SUD-focused caseload while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team dedicated to helping patients achieve and sustain recovery. The ideal candidate is passionate about addiction treatment, knowledgeable of recovery-oriented care, and comfortable working independently within Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services in an outpatient setting in accordance with DDAP regulations
    • Conduct thorough assessments, including level-of-care determinations, treatment planning, and ongoing documentation
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with clinical needs and regulatory requirements
    • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) consistent with DDAP standards
    • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed
    • Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups
    • Coordinate care with internal and external providers, including case management and referral services
    • Ensure compliance with all DDAP, state, and organizational policies and procedures
    • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and quality assurance activities
    • Support clients in achieving recovery goals and maintaining engagement in treatment

    Essential Functions:

    • Conducts individual or group therapy sessions. Assesses patients' progress and modifies or extends treatment program accordingly.
    • Provides therapeutic intervention with patient and family including individual, marital, parental, family and group therapies.
    • Interviews patients and family members to obtain information about home environment, family relationships, health history, and patient's personality traits.
    • Documents current, accurate observations of care to the patient in appropriate records.
    • Coordinates care of assigned patients.
    • Assists in the implementation of education and training experience for interns and other designated students.
    • Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

    Common Expectations:

    • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
    • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
    • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
    • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
    • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications
    Minimum Education:

    • Master's Degree Required

    Work Experience:

    • More than 1-year related experience required
    • Experience in a DDAP-licensed program preferred

    Licenses:

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker Upon Hire Required or
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Upon Hire Required or
    • Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Required or
    • CADC, CAADC or CCADC preferred
