General Summary
Performs routine screening mammography procedures and at least one other modality such as x-ray, EKG or bone densitometry according to established practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs screen mammography studies and at least one other modality such as x-ray, EKG or bone densitometry. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
- Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for assisting in the training of other technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
- Maintains department quality assurance programs.
- Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedures.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Prepares, maintains and scans appropriate documentation required by the department.

Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 3 years Relevant experience. Required
Licenses:
- Registered Technologist-Mammography - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist Upon Hire Preferred
Courses and Training:
- Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures. Upon Hire Required
