    Schedule

    PRN staff pool, schedule TBD, most likely a Monday thru Friday daytime position, exact hours TBD by business demands

    General Summary

    Performs a variety of functions related to transported patients that are confined to a wheelchair in the accordance with appropriate rules, regulations and protocols.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Provides prompt, courteous transportation services to patients who lack the means of transportation and / or who require transportation via wheelchair van to and/or from facilities, private residents, or practice locations.
    • For scheduled transports, arrives at patient location on-time or up to ten minutes early, barring unforeseen circumstances.
    • Maintain an operational knowledge of all WellSpan EMS equipment.
    • Maintain professional and empathetic attitude when encountering family member(s) and patient(s)
    • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers and facility staff.
    • Maintain all equipment in a clean, functional manner.
    • Responsible for providing transportation services to patients in an orderly, safe and timely manner.
    • Responsible for maintaining appropriate records for each transport accurately and completely.
    • Responsible for the daily cleaning of the interior and exterior of the wheelchair van.

    Common Expectations:

    • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
    • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
    • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
    • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
    • Attends meetings as required.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications
    Minimum Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED Required

    Work Experience:

    • Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required

    Driver's License Statement:

    Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
