The Rooms Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Front Desk Manager and/or General Manager in overseeing rooms inventory management and all switchboard operations including answering phones, transferring calls, managing guest needs through the Marriott chat portal, and deploying housekeeping or engineering services where needed. The Rooms Supervisor will help ensure the front desk team is providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay. He/she is also responsible for maximizing room revenue and occupancy and ensuring hotel practices and policies are implemented.

This position is full-time, 5 days a week. Shifts are typically 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm. Schedule is based off business needs and weekends are required. Our ideal candidate will need to show strong leadership and communication skills; and be comfortable with making independent decisions that are in favor of the business. Hotel experience and knowledge of inventorying and rooms management systems is highly preferred. Supervisors at The Westin Portland Harborview are eligible for cell phone and parking reimbursement.

• Typically requires a high school diploma and 3 or more years of experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains the organization's telephone directory.
• Creates and updates records of toll charges on long-distance calls.
• Verifies charges on monthly telephone bills.
• Ensures that incoming phone calls are patched through to the appropriate employees or departments in a timely manner.
• Accurately reports callers' contact information.
• Oversees clerical activities taking corrective action when necessary.
