The Environmental Noise & Acoustics Intern will join an environmental services team assessing sound impacts from utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects. Projects range from pre-construction ambient noise surveys and turbine or inverter noise modeling to post-construction compliance monitoring for renewable energy developers, IPPs, and utility clients. This position offers a direct opportunity to apply acoustics and environmental science coursework to real-world renewable energy siting and permitting work.
As an Environmental Noise & Acoustics Intern, the selected candidate will learn to apply industry standards, including ANSI, IEC, and state and local noise ordinances, in the preparation of noise impact assessments and will assist Senior Acousticians in field data collection, acoustic modeling, and the preparation of technical reports supporting permitting and community engagement.
