The HR Generalist provides day-to-day human resources support to employees, HR Business Partners, and business leaders across the North/Northwest region of the United States. Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partners, and working in close partnership with the divisional HR Business Partners, the role serves as a first point of contact for employee HR needs and ensures HR programs, policies, and processes are carried out consistently across multiple office locations and states.
The position covers employee relations, hiring and onboarding coordination, performance management, engagement, training and development, HR data and reporting, and multi-state compliance. By executing people programs and resolving routine issues, the HR Generalist extends the capacity of the HR Business Partners and helps the business meet its workforce needs while maintaining a positive, compliant employee experience.
This position is onsite in our Westminster or Englewood, CO office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees in the North/Northwest region on HR questions, policies, programs, and processes; resolve inquiries promptly and escalate complex matters to the HR Business Partner as appropriate.
- Partner with divisional HR Business Partners to carry out people priorities and initiatives, including organizational changes, workforce planning support, and talent programs.
- Support employee relations by interpreting policies, conducting intake and fact-finding, assisting with workplace investigations, and documenting outcomes; help managers prepare performance improvement plans and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers throughout the hiring process: defining job requirements and qualification criteria, coordinating interviews, evaluating candidates, and supporting offers - and deliver a consistent onboarding and new-hire integration experience.
- Guide managers and employees through the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, and merit and compensation processes.
- Lead and support employee engagement, recognition, and retention efforts across regional offices; help interpret survey results and carry out action plans.
- Coordinate and deliver training and development programs, including onboarding, manager, and compliance training, in partnership with the broader HR team.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; prepare HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, time-to-fill) that help HR Business Partners and leaders spot trends and make decisions.
- Help ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state region; stay current on regulatory changes and flag potential impacts.
- Support employee lifecycle transactions, including transfers, leaves of absence, accommodations, and offboarding/exit interviews.
- Support merger, acquisition, and integration activities, including onboarding acquired employees and aligning HR processes and practices.
- Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and policy updates that improve the employee experience.
- Travel to offices within the North/Northwest region as needed.
