Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Tech
Department: Repair
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Facility location: Chester, CT
- Troubleshooting, failure analysis and repair of Whelen Emergency lighting and mechanical siren devices.
- Communicate and document design problems, component failures and initial failures on newly designed product.
- Maintain high work output without sacrificing quality.
- Complete all administrative function relating to documentation of work performed and regulatory requirements.
- Perform revision updates, rework, or repair to drawing specifications using a variety of hand tools, test fixtures, electronic test equipment and soldering equipment.
- Replace broken assemblies and subassemblies and solder as needed.
- As required assist with the receiving and shipping of items sent in for service
- Ability to read electronic assembly and schematic drawings.
- Must read and write in English.
- Computer literate
- Normal Color Vision
- Vision: Close vision; ability to work on electronic circuit boards with very small electronic components
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands, and arm length, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Ability to learn and maintain J-STD-10 and IPC-a-610II Soldering Standards
- Work in a team environment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate safety and service functions.
- High School w/1-3 + years’ experience or AA/AS/Technical School w/6 months experience Physical demands and abilities
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Regularly performs repetitive tasks
- Able to stand entire shift
- Regularly possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
