    Job description

    Summary:

    Leads production team and assists in assembly operations  Collaborates effectively within a team to achieve shared goals and takes ownership of maintaining project momentum  Is willing to be flexible to achieve goals, may be asked coordinate work beyond own area   Proposes improvements to processes  Acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others but is not a supervisor  Works autonomously within established procedures and practice  Under minimal supervision, performs substantially varied and complex tasks  Applies advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area  Adapts new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position  Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals  Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels  Orients, trains, assigns, and checks the work of other employees  Monitors team performance and motivates the team to perform  Must be able to distinguish colors  Knowledge of Production Procedures  Ability to Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports.  Understands and adheres to the company quality standards.  Assumes supervisor/manager’s duties in their absence.  Must be able to stand for entire shift.   Physical demands and abilities   Able to lift 35 pounds.   Regularly perform repetitive tasks.   Able to stand for entire shift.   Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.   ·         Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements ·         Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards ·         Attend scheduled EH&S training program ·         Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans ·         Recommend improved EH&S practices    Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties.  This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as the majority of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.   The incumbent is responsible for complying with the policies in Whelen’s “Employee Handbook.”   This Job Description is to serve as a guide.
