Position Title: Bartender
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Bar Manager

Position Summary:
The Bartender at Tillie’s Restaurant is not only responsible for crafting exceptional beverages but also for creating an amazing, holistic experience for every guest. As part of the team, you will contribute to all aspects of Front of House operations within our highly stylized restaurant, inspired by a 19th-century Vietnamese town hall with global influences. With a focus on Modern/New American cuisine, this role is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and eager to advance within the resort.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Guest Experience:

1. Support the team in managing all elements that contribute to the overall guest experience.
2. Prepare a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, serve food, and ensure an excellent service experience.
3. Exhibit professional behavior and a charismatic, positive energy that drives conversation and sales.

Customer Interaction:

1. Greet guests warmly, learn and remember their preferences, and provide thoughtful recommendations.
2. Upsell items and creatively craft recipes while utilizing proper equipment and ingredients.
3. Discuss and describe daily specials, seasonal menu items, and food pairing options to enhance sales and promote a unique dining experience.

Operational Responsibilities:

1. Follow steps of service and company guidelines for preparing cocktails and other beverages.
2. Maintain a clean and organized bar section, collaborating with other bartenders to wash glassware and utensils after each use.
3. Clean up after guests and ensure a tidy work area throughout the shift.

Education and Compliance:

1. Educate guests about beverage options, utilizing in-house learning and development.
2. Check identification of guests to ensure they meet age requirements for purchasing alcohol and monitor guest alcohol consumption to prevent over-serving.
3. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies regarding alcohol service.

Sales and Promotion:

1. Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays that promote specific beverage options, enhancing both sales and the guest experience.
2. Collect payment for all sold items accurately and efficiently.

Event Support:

1. Support Camp Lucy programming and special events as needed, contributing to the overall success of the resort’s offerings.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a bartender in a restaurant or bar setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktails, and beverage service.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to alcohol service.
