Preparation of Surfaces: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and priming as necessary to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and furniture, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Color Matching: Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency with existing color schemes and provide recommendations based on aesthetic preferences.
Maintenance and Repairs: Perform minor repairs to damaged surfaces before painting, and help with general maintenance tasks around the facility as needed, contributing to overall upkeep and improvements.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the safe handling of chemicals and solvents.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of paints, primers, and supplies; order materials as needed to ensure consistent workflow.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to complete projects on time and within budget, providing input on timelines and project scopes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a painter, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
Familiarity with painting techniques and materials, including knowledge of color theory and mixing.
Required Experience and Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.
Flexibility to assist with various maintenance tasks and projects as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
