Tool and Die Maker

Set up and operate a variety of manual and precision machine tools.

Fabricate, modify, and repair tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine components.

Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other equipment.

Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for machining operations.

Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each job.

Perform precision machining operations and maintain tight tolerances.

Inspect, measure, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.

Set machine controls and enter or modify machine control programs as required.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and make repairs to support production needs.

Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layouts, and machining procedures.

Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
