The Role
As a Firmware Engineer, you’ll develop the embedded systems that connect software to real hardware, working across electronics, sensors, actuators, motor control, and autonomous systems. This is where firmware meets steel.
- Develop embedded systems on STM32 microcontrollers.
- Develop low-level drivers, peripherals, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), and real-time systems.
- Work at the intersection of electronics, sensors, actuators, motor control, and embedded software.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional firmware engineering experience.
- Solid mechatronics background.
- Experience developing production-quality firmware in Rust.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware/software interactions.
- ITAR eligibility as outlined above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or autonomy.
- Familiarity with drone/UAV systems, real-time operating systems, or embedded development.
- Experience at a high-growth startup or technology company with strong engineering practices.
- Experience using the Embassy asynchronous embedded framework.
- Experience taking systems from prototype through deployment.

- Competitive compensation: $130,000 to $175,000 base salary

This is a full-time, onsite role at our facility in Leander, Texas, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Austin.
