The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

This role will involve working within the Ahikaroa Housing Central team. The community housing-based service has a strong focus on collaborating with other services to support transition, recovery, and wellness.

This role is suited to a registered heath professional, such as an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, or an AOD practitioner, who would like to use their professional skills to make a difference in the housing and residential recovery space.

In this role you will work closely with key stakeholders to:

• Review and coordinate referrals from mental health residential services into independent housing options.
• Identify and overcome barriers to accessing supported independent living.
• Identify on-going support needs for people in residential services to help them sustain and progress their living situation in line with their goals and aspirations.
• Collaborate and navigate the social housing sector, with other community providers
• Build and maintain relationships with other community providers including mental health and addiction services.
• Provide clinical oversight support for staff and Kiritaki
• Support Kiritaki with sustaining their tenancies in the community.

About You | Mōu

We’d love to hear from Registered Health Professionals with a range of experience in the mental health and social sectors, particularly (but not necessarily) with experience in housing and residential recovery services.

 In addition, we are looking for someone with:

• A current Annual Practicing Certificate and registration
• Strong communication and relationship building skills, who can quickly build credibility while showcasing sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• An ability to work at pace and flourish under pressure
• Cultural awareness and a commitment to supporting Māori and Pasifika whānau
• Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in record keeping
• Knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi principles and working with Mā
• A full New Zealand driving license
