The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi 
We are looking for a team of Registered Nurses to join a newly established Auckland peer-led acute service that offers an alternative to hospital admission for those people experiencing acute mental distress.  The service model is based on a World Health Organisation recognised and regarded acute care service.
You will need to have a scope of practice to work in mental health and utilise your clinical nursing skills to support our guests in their recovery.  Lived experience is preferred for these roles and peer allyship is essential.

We have 3 permanent full-time positions available based in Central Auckland;
Sunday – Thursday, 7:00-3:30pm
Tuesday- Saturday, 3:00pm- 11:30pm
Friday- Monday, Friday & Saturday, 7am – 3:30pm, Sunday & Monday, 3pm – 11:30pm
You will join a team of passionate peer support specialists and Registered Nurses who walk alongside tangata whai ora to achieve wellbeing while working in a homelike 12-bed community-based service. You will be reporting to the Team Coach - Peer.
You will help identify and meet tangata whai ora individual health and social care needs, develop care and support plans and assist them to manage distress, reconnect with community services and take control of their wellbeing. You will also conduct physical health assessments and health metric monitoring, medication support, support people with goal planning and with the formulation and implementation of risk and safety management plans. Professional development and supervision support structures will be in place to help you practice at your very best.

You’ll have:

• Must have Nursing registration with a current practising certificate
• Comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope, and the ability to work within the field of mental health.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral and excellent organisational skills
• Hold a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn new computer programmes and skills
• Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
