Volunteer Mentor
Support and Inspire Youth on Their Path to Success
1-Hour/Week or 2 Hours/Month
THE ROLE
Win is seeking caring and committed Volunteer Mentors to support youth and young adults ages 14-24 living in our supportive housing programs throughout New York City. Through one-on-one mentoring and participation in monthly enrichment activities, mentors help young people build confidence, explore future opportunities, develop life skills, and work toward their personal goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build a consistent and trusting relationship with a matched mentee through regular one-on-one meetings and communication
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and positive role modeling while supporting personal, educational, and career development
- Help mentees strengthen life skills, self-confidence, decision-making, and goal-setting abilities
- Participate in program-sponsored group activities, workshops, and community events that promote learning and engagement
WHO YOU WILL BE
- You will be a reliable, compassionate adult committed to supporting youth and young adults
- You will demonstrate sensitivity and understanding toward individuals who have experienced housing instability, trauma, and other life challenges
- You will possess strong listening, communication, and relationship-building skills while maintaining appropriate boundaries
- You will be available to maintain consistent contact with a mentee and actively participate in the mentoring program
