    Job description

    Overview / Responsibilities

    The Area Manager is responsible for driving the successful operations for an assigned region in alignment with Swaggart Brother’s best practices. Primary responsibilities include overseeing projects, mitigating risks, building and maintaining relationships with key contacts, developing a high-performance work team as well as continuously monitoring the industry for new business opportunities.

    Key accountabilities in order of priority and with ideal time allocations are:

    1. Builds and maintains a high-performance work team to deliver projects safe, right and fast in alignment with the organizational goals. (15%)2. Builds strong lasting relationships with customers to ensure the security and growth of the organization. (10%)3. Drives operational excellence to fulfill the Swaggart Brother’s vision and be the industry leader. (15%)4. Drives consistent business practices by supporting corporate best practices to protect the company from external risks. (5%)5. Monitors the marketplace to identify and capture opportunities which enable the company to meet profit and growth objectives. (25%)6. Directs the local equipment fleet to ensure proper care and maintenance, optimum utilization, job-specific allocation, and maximize profitability. (10%)

    Note: Twenty percent of time is reserved for ancillary responsibilities, interruptions and unplanned activities.

    Skills / Qualifications

    Interpersonal Responsibilities

    1. Develops strong personal and professional relationships with potential and current customers; identifies customer needs, changes within the business or industry and key contacts in order to develop project opportunities as well as establishing long-term, ongoing relationships. Communicates opportunities in other regions to the appropriate Area Manager. 2. Builds productive relationships with government officials and within the community to minimize project obstacles or issues.3. Acts as the cultural ambassador to ensure the regional operations is in alignment with and living the corporate culture, mission and vision.4. Provides coaching and guidance for the Project Managers, Assistant Project Manager, General Superintendents and Foreman to assist in delivering projects safely, on budget and on time.5. Networks within the region and industry to identify and create a candidate pool to meet the organization’s recruiting needs; oversees and participates in candidate interviews as necessary.6. Continuously evaluates the current talent base and overall bench strength of the region. Reviews knowledge and skills gaps of direct reports and field staff, assists in identifying appropriate training and development opportunities, and ensures training programs are completed. 7. Works with Superintendents to establish individual and work group accountabilities and performance objectives as well as assist in managing performance as necessary.8. Establishes accountabilities and performance objectives for direct reports. Conducts performance evaluations, identifies training needs, initiates professional development opportunities, and recommends effective action plans.

    Operational Responsibilities

    1. Monitors the execution of all regional projects to mitigate risk and ensure safe, right and fast completion:- Proactively visits work sites to monitor project progression, quality and risks. Inspects the project site to identify changes in status, safety behaviors, quality concerns, or other potential issues; coaches the team on findings and assists in developing plans to resolve findings.- Review the project’s weekly risk audit and assists in identifying and resolving any identified issues.- Monitors risks and work with the appropriate teams to mitigate current and potential risks; ensures subcontractor compliance.- Ensures job specific compliance and safety requirements are met.- Identifies opportunities for quoting or expanding the scope of work within projects.2. Oversees and monitors the regional operations project profitability and cost to complete reporting; troubleshoots and assists in resolving payments issues as necessary and ensures proper appropriation of per-diem.3. Continuously monitors assigned region’s operational efficiency and implements continuous improvement as necessary.4. Reviews current and upcoming projects to properly allocate resources to meet project requirements and deadlines; works in conjunction with the other Area Manager to effectively utilize and monitor resources.5. Forecasts equipment fleet needs and manages equipment utilization to assist in coordinating efficient utilization throughout the region and minimize rental requirements; approves all equipment rentals for projects.6. Assists with business development activities by identifying opportunities and participates in new customer meetings to act as technical expert and understand customer expectations.7. Develops a funnel of work and provides business development with quarterly projection reports for assigned region.

    Organizational Responsibilities

    1. Assists in developing P&O policies and procedures in line with company business goals and within the requirements of federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.2. Develops and manages the operations overhead budget; approves expenses and invoices; and ensures effective cost control. Implements corrective action, when necessary, to meet objectives.3. Proactively monitors and reports on metrics, market trends, sales, financial and operational performance for assigned region; takes appropriate action based on performance results to allow for execution of business activities and achievement of goals and objectives.
