    Job description

    Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for an IT Support Technician with previous experience of working in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The position is based in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa on a 28/28 rotation.

    *Please note this position is only open to Equatorial Guinea nationals.

    Principal duties & responsibilities:

    • Installs, configures, supports localized IT network systems.
    • Responds to localized network system problems and provides problem resolution.
    • Installs, configures, optimizes and maintains localized instances of LAN/WAN solutions along with other networking equipment.
    • Provide day to day IT hardware & software support to company personnel and resources.
    • Responsible for configuration, deployment, and maintenance of company IT hardware and software assets.
    • Assists in diagnoses and troubleshooting basic network connectivity and network printing issues.
    • Updates and maintains localized hardware documentation.
    • Resolves trouble tickets assigned to provide exceptional customer service.
    • Performs other departmental duties as deemed necessary by management

    Skills / Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field OR High School Diploma (Degree in computer science or related field is preferable)

    Job-Specific Skills:

    • Some experience related experience (oil & gas preferred)
    • Experience with Cisco routers and switches
    • Experience with Satellite and/or microwave networking systems

    Personal Attributes:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Spanish)
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skill
    • Good communication ability, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrates initiative and anticipates needs
    • Willingness to undertake any other tasks as requested
