Senior Structural Designer

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural / Senior Structural Designer who aspires to be part of a team, delivering strong resultsWe look for innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes and offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contributionThis role will be based in the Wood Al Hejailan Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia office, reporting to the Head of the DepartmentTo be successful you have prior Designer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements

• Part of Structural Design Division to deliver projects from scope and through to project completion
• 3D modelling of structural components of offshore platforms (Topside and Jackets) using PDMS Design & SP3D
• Prepare structural steel 2D framing and detail drawings of for green field and brownfield projects (topside and jackets), lift and installation drawings
• Prepare equipment support, pipe support and cable tray support drawings of existing structure
• Prepare well-hookup structural packages
• Liaising with the other discipline teams to ensure we meet the project outcomes and schedule
• Familiar with Saudi Aramco standards, international codes and industry standards such as PIP, APIRP2A, EEMUA, AWS

Skills / Qualifications

• 15+ years minimum experience in the Oil and Gas industry
• At least 10 years shall have been in a designer role in the structural discipline
• Degree or Advance Certificate in Engineering / Design
• Experience working on FEED, Brownfield and Greenfield projects in Structural Design
• Producing design layouts, detailing and fabrication drawings
• A technical associates degree or equivalent in education and/or experience
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience with engineering teams to deliver complex projects whilst exceeding client expectations
• Good knowledge in using structural software’s i.e., PDS frameworks, MicrostationV8i, SP3D, AutoCAD and PDMS
