We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the Benugo Team in Edinburgh.
Salary:£38 000 per annum
Shifts: 5 days out of 7, daytime
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
About the role:
- Report directly to the Area Chef and General Manager, deputising in their absence when required.
- Work closely with the Area Chef and Group Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and continuously improve our food offering.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency are maintained to the highest standard at all times.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire the kitchen team, setting high standards through a hands-on approach.
- Take ownership of stock management, including ordering, stock control, waste reduction, and cost management.
- Ensure all food safety, health & safety, and COSHH procedures are implemented and maintained to the highest standards.
- Plan, organise, and direct the kitchen team to deliver exceptional fresh and seasonal food to specification, without compromising on quality or taste.
- Work alongside the Area Chef and General Manager to drive sales and profitability through effective cost control, responsible ordering, and strong supplier management.
- Work closely with the Area Chef and General Manager to plan and manage rotas, ensuring the kitchen is resourced effectively to meet business demands.
- Coach, train, and develop team members to support their growth and ongoing success.
- Drive operational excellence, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and team performance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience within a high volume kitchens
- Strong communication and leadership skills
