Manufacturing Engineer I

Pay Range: $69,000 - $86,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034

Work schedule: Primarily Monday – Friday day shift (Roughly 7:00am – 4:00pm) but flexibility required as needed & may include Saturday work for projects

The Manufacturing Engineer I supports production operations by improving manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring product quality. This entry-level engineering role works closely with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support daily manufacturing activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Focus will be on CNC operations, process improvements, tooling/jig development, throughput improvement & overall process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations and troubleshoot production issues
• Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes and work instructions
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Help design and implement tooling, fixtures, and production equipment improvements
• Collaborate with quality teams to investigate defects and implement corrective actions
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Assist in capacity planning and line balancing activities
• Maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flows and standard operating procedures
• Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities
• Work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing-related issues
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Demonstrate MITER Brands Guiding Principles in all business interactions.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems is a plus

Education/ Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 0–2 years of manufacturing or engineering experience
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Experience with ERP or MES systems
• CAD software experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Experience supporting automation or robotics projects
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift or move office supplies or equipment, weighing up to 50 pounds
• The ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Frequent walking and bending are required
