RESPONSIBILITES: Prepare and serve menu items according to established recipes and served in accordance with health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by greeting members and guests, taking orders, answering questions, and making menu recommendations. Customize menu items to meet guest preferences while maintaining recipe standards. Accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and equipment. Complete an inventory checklist throughout scheduled shift. Communicate shortage of inventory to a supervisor. Follow all YMCA policies and health department regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, stocking, and basic equipment maintenance.
Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers. Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the YMCA Café.
