At the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, we are dedicated to helping children learn, grow, and thrive. We are seeking caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Preschool Teachers to join our year-round Early Learning team. If you enjoy working with young children and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment, we'd love to hear from you. Schedules vary in 4-6 hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Preschool Teacher, you will:
- Assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 2–5 and Pre-K.
- Lead engaging small-group activities that promote learning through music, art, games, literacy, science, math, dramatic play, and hands-on exploration.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom where children can learn and grow.
- Follow all Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards and YMCA policies and procedures.
- Ensure the health and safety of children at all times, including responding appropriately during emergencies.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, volunteers, and fellow staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, required professional development, and annual training (minimum of 30 hours per year).
- Model professionalism and uphold YMCA standards of conduct and dress.

The ability to:
- Stand and actively engage with children for extended periods.
- Frequently move between sitting, kneeling, bending, and standing.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions.
