Yonder is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our ambitious Growth team and to drive new business for our research offer, covering quantitative and qualitative research, brand tracking, audience segmentation, stakeholder and opinion research, and other exclusive Yonder proprietary products.

This new business role will be focused on research buyers: insight directors, heads of brand and consumer insight and agencies who commission research.

Market research sector experience is essential for this role. You will be the entry point for the Research Practice, helping to access this market; understanding how insight teams buy, what a good brief looks like, where the budgets sit, and how to win against our established competitors.

What you'll do: 

• Drive the new business target for the Research Practice, build and convert a pipeline of qualifying briefs

• Prospect proactively into identified target accounts and sectors, using a mix of techniques, e.g., targeted account-based outreach, LinkedIn and social selling, events and conferences, warm introductions via the insight team’s existing client relationships, and content-led outreach (webinars, thought leadership)
• Help the team respond to inbound enquiries, RFIs and tenders

• Build relationships and speak credibly with technical buyers

• Support the team with meeting, proposals and pitches to help secure new business

• Build warm relationships with procurement and intermediary partners, and keep Yonder on the right rosters and frameworks

• Maintain accurate pipeline funnel, forecasting and CRM and report weekly to the Business Development Director

• Feed market intelligence back into the business: competitors emerging briefs, market sentiment

• Join the Yonder Growth Team and work, share and celebrate sales and marketing activities and champion the Yonder Way throughout the business

Essential skills for this role

• 3 year + selling market research services, ideally at a full-service or specialist agency

• A passion for winning new logos, hitting revenue targets and celebrating wins

• Solid understanding of research methods (quant, qual, brand tracking, segmentation, stakeholder/opinion research etc.) and the target client needs - able to understand a brief
• Curiosity about research methods, and willingness to keep building knowledge on the job

• Have a network among insight and research buyers

• Comfortable and credible selling to a technical buyer

• Self-starting and motivated by owning a pipeline from outreach to win

• Collaborative and enjoy working with a team of deep experts and researchers helping them to make their work easier to buy
• Confident using a CRM to manage and report on pipeline
• Enthusiasm to play an active role in a central Growth Team, connecting sales and marketing activity and championing a new business culture

Success in this role looks like

• Pipeline value built and converted against target
• Number of qualifying leads/ briefs generated per quarter
• Revenue delivered against the research and insight practice target
