    Qualifications

    Minimum Credentials:

    • 18+ years or older. 
    • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
    • Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPRO) [best practice is to renew annually]
    • Current ARC First aid certification
    • Current ARC Emergency oxygen administration certification
    • Meets minimal physical requirement of the job description.
    • 20/20 vision or corrected 20/40 vision.
    • The ability to hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • The ability to remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
    • Availability for early mornings, afternoons, and/or weekends
    • Ability to work effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
    • Must have availability for opening shifts.
    • Opening shifts are scheduled Monday–Friday from 5:15–8:30 AM and Saturday–Sunday from 6:45–10:00 AM.
    • Candidates are not required to be available for all seven days but must have consistent availability for some opening shifts

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages.
