Qualifications
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- Working knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate rules, expectations, and decisions clearly and respectfully with youth and adults.
- Ability to respond appropriately to disagreements and game-related conflicts using established program procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, coaches, participants, and families.
- Ability to support an inclusive youth sports environment focused on safety, participation, sportsmanship, and development.
- Availability to work scheduled weekend games and weekday evenings as required by the program schedule.
- Ability to maintain consistent availability for assigned shifts during the YBL season.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to complete required certification upon hire.
- TB clearance as required for the position.
- Ability to participate in required training, evaluations, and supervision meetings.
- Must be available M – F 2:30pm to 7:15 pm and/or available weekends 8:30am- 5:15pm
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience officiating, coaching, participating in, or supporting basketball or youth sports programs.
- Ability to communicate in additional languages commonly spoken within the communities served by the YMCA, including Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin.
