Registered Nurse

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Primary Care Clinic at our main location!

The program seeks to implement a patient and family centered health care delivery for primary care that is team-based, comprehensive, and designed to fully meet the complete primary care health and wellness needs of patients.

Hours: Day Shift, Monday through Friday. The clinic is closed on weekends and the day of observance of Federal holidays.

Qualifications.

• Be a graduate from an accredited nursing program and have received either an ASN or BSN degree.
• Possess a valid RN license in 1 of the provinces.
• Possess a minimum experience of two (2) years as a Registered Nurse within the last three (3) years.
• 1 year experience working in an ambulatory based outpatient, primary/family practice environment.

Duties.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for all ages.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the execution of the nursing process and clinically directs staff in its application.
• May administer routine intravenous fluids and/or medications.
• Monitor and/or administer diagnostic and therapeutic agents.
• Initiate and maintain medical history on patients, recording observations and stated symptoms. Observe and record pertinent vital signs, determine and order laboratory procedures on patients that may be required by the provider to diagnose and treat the patient, per command and department policies
• Perform triage through the screening of patient problems.
• Take appropriate action such as practitioner referral and evaluation, health care advice, initiation of medical protocols or referral based on medical staff protocols.
• Assist with identification of patient education needs and reviews plan with team members for coordination of educational needs
• Assist providers with physical examinations, treatments and diagnostic procedures.
• Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to safety and legal requirements at the command and department levels with emphasis on those pertinent to the clinic. Collaborate with staff and support activities to maintain a safe and orderly department environment.'
