    Job description

    SUMMARY The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, and custodial duties to support the safe and effective operation of parish facilities. This role completes routine tasks, assists with basic repairs, and supports cleaning and event setup needs under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Operations Manager, depending on parish structure.     • Performs routine maintenance and minor preventive maintenance for buildings, equipment, and property.
    • Provides general custodial and janitorial services, including cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, restroom cleaning and restocking, and floor care (sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming).
    • Cleans and performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment, tools, and building systems.
    • Maintains building interiors by cleaning and polishing furniture, fixtures, mirrors, and equipment; washing windows, counters, walls, and woodwork.
    • Sets up and breaks down furniture and equipment for parish functions and events.
    • Performs minor repairs, including painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, and other routine maintenance; services equipment when able and reports mechanical malfunctions requiring additional support.
    • Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper use of tools and equipment.
    • Identifies, reports, and addresses safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
    • Monitors premises and reports unauthorized individuals or security concerns.
    • Assists with general upkeep of parish facilities as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
