The inspector conducts inspections of craft work or work done by others to ensure that it complies with the owner's specifications, governing codes, or manufacturer's requirements. Validate all inspection activities by documenting the correct forms, Inspection and Test Records (ITRs,) or other media approved by the project’s ITP or SOP.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project management and/or client/owner.
- Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC Supervisor non-conformances reports
- Coordinates examination, inspection, and test plans with project management and client representatives.
- Completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
- Read and interpret engineered drawings and manufacturer manuals.
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, verifies procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections
Qualifications
Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years’ related experience within industrial construction
- Exposure to API 686 Recommended Practice for Machinery Installation
- Proficient with precision alignment tools
- A working knowledge of ASME/API/ASNT codes and standards relating to mechanical
- Generally familiar with Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (e.g. MS Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Personal characteristics of attention to detail and conviction to reject work that does not meet expectations and not influenced by peer pressure
Preferred Qualifications Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- 5 years of related field work as a craft supervisor or above.
- NCCER Millwright certification
- Relevant educational or certification requirements, such as a degree in engineering or a quality control certification(s)
