About Zovea
Zovea is a fast-growing group of companies in animal health, spanning veterinary medicine trading, direct-to-consumer retail, and staffing. Growth at this pace puts pressure on finance to keep up, and we're building that capability now. This is a newly created role: you'll be the first Group Business Controller at Zovea, with the room to define how the function works rather than inherit someone else's system.
What you'll do
Most controller roles ask you to master one commercial model and stay there. Zovea runs three at once: veterinary medicine trading, DTC retail, and staffing, each with its own logic. This role asks you to work across all labels, which means broader exposure, harder problems, and no two months that look alike. You will report directly to the Finance Director of Zovea. Because the position is new, you'll also shape its scope: what gets measured, how reporting flows, and where controlling adds the most value as the group grows.
- Analyze revenue, margin and inventory development, and translate this into concrete insights for the monthly business reviews
- Look ahead by using data for predictive purchasing, early signaling of shortages, and supporting commercial and operational decisions
- Drive the shift from data to management information, helping the business make proactive, strategic decisions
- Develop and monitor KPIs that steer performance and growth, such as revenue and margin per customer, inventory turnover, and product availability
- Own the budget and forecast process, including scenario analyses, and track financial progress against the strategic plans
- Build consistent management reporting and monitor relevant financial and operational metrics, forming the basis for monthly reviews
- Connect business and finance by translating financial and operational insight into clear, action-oriented management information
- Bring structure to business performance management and contribute actively to Zovea's continued growth and professionalization, across current and future labels
- Work on business cases for international expansion, growth of existing labels, and new initiatives
Who you are
- You have a bachelor's degree in a finance or business related field and 5-10 years of experience in a business controller role, ideally in a fast-paced environment
- You have strong analytical skills and advanced Excel knowledge
- You have a sharp eye for numbers, take ownership of your work, and stay detail-oriented and proactive
- Self-directed and self-starting; able to take responsibility, set priorities, and work independently
- Curious and decisive: you ask questions, and are pragmatic and action-oriented
